OSCATOWN English School - Notebooks

I have been trying to make my elementary school age students speak more about their own lives. Every week in class we ask 'What did you do today?' and 'What did you do at the weekend?' and I have been teaching them the vocabulary they need to reply in English, but recently I gave them each a notebook and have been asking them to copy what I write on the board after they say it, giving them their own English textbook with the words they want to use, and it has been great. They are remembering the vocabulary much better and they really seem to enjoy writing in their books and drawing little sketches to help them remember the meaning.
I hope this will help them progress much more quickly and, as they are taking their notebooks home after class each week, that they will study a little at home !!
Onwards and upwards...
